Is a life without fear or worries even possible?
According to Buddha, fear arises from how we respond to our environment not from the environment itself. The fear and anxiety that we experience is therefore not inevitable.
Through the practice of meditation, we can learn to work skillfully with our fear.
Instead of allowing it to overwhelm us, we learn to redirect it, so that it moves us towards developing those states of mind that naturally give rise to peace, confidence and a strong sense of purpose.
In modern life, almost everyone experiences some degree of fear and anxiety.
By discovering their underlying causes and learning new ways of thinking, we can reduce and eventually overcome these unskillful habits of mind.
In this course we will learn to calm down by meditating on our breath.
We will also learn how through positive thinking we can react to situations in ways that can prevent unnecessary fear and worries so that we will eventually be able to approach all situations with a sense of calm and joy.
Each session will consist of guided meditations and a short talk with an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
The main takeaways from this course are :
Fear and worries are not inevitable.
Meditation on the breath give us a stable level of inner peace
Controlling our mind is the key to a happy life
