Healing from the heart - taking and giving
The Buddhist meditation practice of taking and giving is one of the most popular and powerful methods for opening our hearts and for healing mental and physical illness.
Join us for this short retreat where Gen Kelsang Dragpa will guide these extraordinary meditations on giving love and taking away suffering. Doing these meditations we actively contribute in removing negativity from the world and spreading loving kindness.
With this practice we also destroy the source of our own suffering and problems, purify our sickness and increase our mental strength.
At the end of this retreat you will have developed or deepened your familiarity with the practice of taking and giving and understand how to use these meditations in your daily life to benefit both yourself and others.
The sessions consist of developing an altruistic motivation, short inspirational prayers, meditation on love and compassion and the actual practice of taking and giving. There will also be time for question and answer, or discussion.
The main takeaways from this retreat are :
By understanding suffering it will become bearable
By developing compassion we can heal ourselves and others
By developing love we can make ourselves and others happy
