in Oslo with Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Dragpa, National Spiritual Director for the Nordic region.
This annual celebration is a wonderful opportunity to receive practical and inspiring teachings on Modern Buddhism, as presented by world-renowned meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Join practitioners from across the Nordic Region to enjoy deep, peaceful meditations and a meaningful spiritual holiday.
The weekend features the blessing empowerment of Prajnaparamita, the female Buddha who is the manifestation of the Perfection of Wisdom. The empowerment is a sublime guided meditation through which we make a direct connection with her, receiving a special power to realize the ultimate nature of reality.
Following the empowerment, Gen Dragpa will give teachings on the Heart Sutra and explain how to use this practice to overcome both external and internal obstacles, transforming the challenges of our daily life into opportunities for spiritual growth.
Gen Kelsang Dragpa is the main teacher at KMC Netherlands and NKT National Spiritual Director of Nordic region & Netherlands.
He is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche- founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
Gen Dragpa ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1993 and has for over 25 years successfully taught and guided meditations extensively as a Resident Teacher in the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Through his study, practice and meditation of modern Kadampa Buddhism over the last thirty years, Gen Dragpa has gained a deep understanding of Buddha's teachings and a down to to earth and practical way of explaining how to integrate Buddha's teachings in our busy modern lives. Gen Dragpa teaches topics relevant to our modern society in a lighthearted manner, and skilfully guides meditations for us to experience a deep feeling of inner peace and contentment.
